Get to the point: Mess has left to bigger and better things. He's been talking about moving and finally got all his ducks in a row and then he left.

Mess is a great friend that I will miss a lot. I guess he also gets what he wants just as I do.

So it's just me and Hush Puppy. Mess is not easily replaceable. I just wonder if we'll have somebody that will out Mess Mess.

We went out for our monthly get together last weekend. And we just talked and had a great dinner at Luby's. Mess likes it for his fish he always orders.

Happy 52nd Birthday, yesterday for Simon Cowell. He is definitely a hottie for me. He was the main reason I watch American Idol.

Wish you Were Here

Yep. I tripped again today and I have to send everyone pics of my latest adventure.

So there I was walking home after a fabulous meal at Manhatten. Traffic was so bad I actually didn't jay walk. So I'm walking through a parking lot. Don't know how it happened, it just did.

I landed on both knees and fell toward my left side and even got to scrape my left elbow. And I slid a bit before I was through. I tried to get up but then I got a cramp in both legs.

I couldn't get up so easily as I had before. I used my cane to help me get up and eventually got on my feet and slowly walked the longest block ever to get home.

Sad but true. My dinner was starting to come up but I was able to wait until I got home to throw up part of dinner. Then I started to come back to earth.

Women who Lunch

HP came over to check his email today. So he did some stuff and then we decided to do lunch. I mentioned the Oasis and how they're a great restaurant.

The Wednesday special is chicken enchiladas with mole sauce. It was fabulous. HP actually ordered the enchiladas also. He's kinda adventurous and loved the mole sauce.

We came back to do some more surfing and he helped me order my Aetna card. And he checked out the porn that I share with him.

So today was a great day. Niece D and husband Larry drove over to Mess's apartment to get a futon for my home. No problem whatsoever today. I also got some quick picks for the lotto. I must win so I can buy a condo. And what Chiflado wants, Chiflado gets.

The Incedent

So there I was at Blanco one Saturday morning. My routine is to go have chilaquiles and coffee.

So my waitress topped my coffee and started to go back to the counter. Out of the blue she screamed at me. This was in Spanish. The coffee is bad for me. And that I drink too much of it.

Of course no manager was around. So I'm boycotting Blanco for a while. I'll go with friends, but I'll decide which restaurant I want for my alone time.

Recommendation

I'm kinda staying away from the Blanco Cafe because of the incident. Turns out there's a restaurant downstairs I'd never used. Actually I did get some breakfast tacos and they were delicious.

El Oasis is a small restaurant with maybe about 20 tables or so. The service is good and the food out of this world. I had chilaquiles the other day and today I had the green enchiladas.

I used to see a lot of people going in for lunch and now I know why. I definitely recommend this restaurant. They're at 323 N Main.

Birthday Boy

OMG!!!!! Johnny Mathis is 76 years young. Me and Johnny go way back. I had like 30 of his albums at one point. Yeah, I also found him attractive.

Nice Weather

We're having some nice weather. In the mornings I turn off the A/C and open a window to enjoy a fabulous breeze. Wonder how long this will last.

Nothing going on here. JL is scampering back and forth here. The other day when we had thunder, he left the comfort of his wing back chair and ran to to hide under the bed.

Mental Health Day

Thursday I went to my therapist. I've become so dependable on her. I talked about the usual things. I have moved on in my mental health. I do pretend that I'm okay just to keep people what I really feel.

So I'm sitting in my chair and we talked about Jean Luc's manicure. She had said it's better to do that when they're still kittens. The older the cat, the more it might be used to his claws and de-clawing might be more traumatising for the cat. But JL came through with flying colours.

He's doing well. I forgot, the reason I wrote this. My therapist noticed that I had no scratches any more. Sorry about the rambling.

Recommendation

Ice cream ice cream, we all scream for ice cream. I hadn't had ice cream in quite a while, so I went to that aisle.

I was able to find only one of this flavour and I highly recommend it. It's Blue Bell of course and it is vanilla pudding completely with wafers. It was only a pint and it disappeared quickly.

Of course ever since I found it I haven't seen it since. But I will keep on looking for this.

Still Moody

I've been thinking a lot about me lately. I guess I'm letting the depression get to me. I just spent a week and a half in bed over this.

I'm going with the who am I? and why am I still here. I should have been dead by now, but I'm still here. I remember my roll over accident in Michigan. I hit a patch of black ice and turned over about two maybe three times.

I wound up strapped to the seat belt I could not get out of. I looked around to see things. My phone and gym bag were on the passenger side along with bakery goodies I got for Steve and me. I had just had a great yoga workout and I think between the that and the seat belt, I survived.

And there were paramedics, but I didn't need them. I only had a small cut in my left palms.

They say there's a reason why people survive such incidents. So, why did I survive? Who knows. Had I gone to the hospital, I would have found out about my HIV status sooner.

So here I am. What's next for me? There was the bathroom incident, another survival. I hope I'm okay for what life throws my way. Bring it on Baby.

JL Update

My baby's doing great. He's almost back to his normal self, especially when he gets in a manic mood and starts running all over the place. The one regret about his manicure is that I should have done it earlier. He's calmed out and he's not biting yet. 

For some reason, ya'll have been asking about him, but what about me? If anybody cares to know, I'm doing a whole lot better. 

Also, I will not be able to go to the camp out after all. I'm still recuperating and Mess is busy with his movie and HP has to work. I so wanted to go and see if the guys I met at the last one were there. It does help if you get a phone or email address. Too bad...for them.

Under the Weather

I've been under the weather for the past week. I have actually slept threw most of last week. HP came over and I slept while he played on the computer.
I did ask him to bring chicken soup from Blanco. And it was so good. Almost as good as mine.

Still not feeling well. So far it hasn't happened but I expect a miracle to get back in the swing things. For now it's a lot of water and I will go get some DVDs to keep me company.

Jean Luc

My little one is doing great. He's been drinking a lot of water and almost back to normal as can be on his kitty chow.

So far, he's more docile than before. As a matter of fact, he fell asleep in my lap the other day in a weird position. But he still keeps it kind of slow. He's in his chair right now grooming away after he hit the kibble. Correction: he's asleep after all that hoopla.

I caught him on the window sill laying around doing nothing. He likes to look out the window and watch the world go by. So far no bites yet. I wonder if his biting went paw in paw together. Anyways, he's here and looking fabulous.

Labs

Went to the clinic for lab results. Everything is great. My t-cell count is 170 and I'm still undetectable. Kidneys, blood pressure normal. Liver in a great place also.

Usually I waste about an hour just in waiting. But I was in and out in about 30 minutes. Dr M also is adding his meds to my home delivery. Don't know if I blogged it, but Humana offered to mail out all my meds for three months at a time, rather than the usual week or so. As soon as I get all these meds come in, I will check with Aetna to see if they have a similar plan.

Follow Up

I picked JL and brought him back home. He's still under the weather. I was supposed to take of his bandages. Pobrecito he couldn't run away. But I finally got them off and he started grooming himself. That's a good sign.

He's still trying to get used to walking. But he's okay. I do carry him to his bowl for food and drink. Then I carry him to the litter box in case he's that disoriented.

He was purring in a low register, but purr away. He's a little better this morning. He's lying in his favorite sunshine right now. We'll see what today brings.

Birthday Boy

Happy 81st Birthday Sean Connery today. Okay, he's a babe. I remembered growing up with a crush on him. He's been the best James Bond ever. I want to spread frosting all over and slowly lick it. Sigh.

The Vet

Today's a big day for us. I took Jean Luc to the vet for a medi pedi. The clinic is great and I owe a thank you to Mess for recommending it.

The drama began when I tried to get him in the carrier. It's a two men job, but I couldn't find anyone to help me with it. It took us a total of 30 minutes and both of us were frustrated. But I persevered and was finally the winner. Poor baby, he was meowing some new sound I never heard before, and then I saw the blood where he scratched me.

They just called and updated me about my baby. He weighs 15 lbs and because of that they suggested I just go in for the front paws and the back claws they'll trim, so my wallet is happy. Then I asked about micro chipping and turns out he's already chipped but I would have to call the company and give them info on me.

It's kinda weird not having him around. He's such a character and the love of my life. Just waiting for them to call so I can bring him home.

Hump Day

Now this is how to spend Hump Days. Hottie Australian hunk, he's also celebrating 35th Birthday today. Maybe if I find a curandera out there, I can get my hands on him. He's made some movies and was a vampire for a season in Moonlight, he can bite me anytime he wants.

Work

I spent today calling insurance companies and my clinic. There's so much work to keep track of everything. I could've watched a DVD but I want to stay in focus of my routine.

Besides, it's too hot to go out and run errands. And those I do early in the day but I do have to be here to get my meal before they take me off the program. But Honey, I'm sticking to it like a glue gun.

Just spoke to Purple 13 and she actually still reads my blog but too busy to leave any comments. At least she reads this and B2 is another. Nice to know I have my fans out there.

Happy 39th Birthday to B2. She's a great friend from a bad relationship. This wreath is nothing compared to her wreaths but I wanted to find a pic of a wreath for her.

She's fun to be around. I remember once she was crafting away and then she almost glued herself to the wreath. I of course had to say it, but she gets attached to her crafting. LOL.

Anyhooooo, she's part of my support list and I love her in my life.

Insurance

I have been using Humana for my clinic. They decided to not accept Humana and I had to choose another insurance. The office manager gave me some suggestions to choose from. The name Aetna looks like a winner.

HP came over yesterday morning to help me out, he does this all day at work, so he knows what's what. Looks like we found a winner here. He registered me and helped with everything. It sounded a lot like of Humana.

But first, we went to Blanco for breakfast. He ordered chilaquiles which is just fabulous at Blanco. It's a simple recipe but I never get it right so I go to Blanco. It was HP's first time out for chilaquiles and he loved them. Duh, like I would recommend a lousy restaurant.

Redundant

These last few days has been scorching hot. I have to do my errands in the morning before the oven goes full steam ahead. Every day seems the same to me.

So what do I do all day you might ask. The answer is nothing. I'm going through a mini depression and I cannot commit to anything right now. I have some DVDs from the library which I'll return even though I didn't get a chance to see them. It's a free-less bother but I'm happy with them.

Ladies who Lunch

HP came over after church. He wanted to check his email and look up insurance for me. I'm currently enrolled in Humana HMO and they will no longer serve my clinic. So I have to find a plan I will be happy with.

But first, we went to La Margarita for some food. There was like a 45 minute wait but we persevered. We did peruse the menu at the bar. We visited but it was too noisy to hear each other.

He had the Acapulco enchiladas which was made with seafood. I had enchiladas mole which I would do any day. I had forgotten how fabulous mole is.

Then we came home and he checked his email and then looked up insurance companies. I just want this to get going so I can get my ass in gear.

Dermatologist

When I was in Michigan I had warts on some of my fingers. The Drs only froze them and they were a little tender. After my HIV status came into effect they did say the HIV medications were strong enough to eliminate the virus.

I think it was in March or April that I woke up with two warts on my lips and they were a a bother. My PCP Dr M froze them also and gave me some topical meds.

Dr M referred me to a dermatologist Dr T and he was a graduate of UM in Ann Arbor. He saw warts and he decided to scrape them off. He came at me with a syringe like the dentists use. I didn't feel a thing anyway but it did give a burning smell.

I was in and out maybe 15 minutes tops. It's funny to feel where they used to be. I was just glad to get rid of them.

So I haven't been writing lately, like anybody reads my blog. There's just nothing to write about. The days are in the 100's and I just cannot leave home. If I do have errands or whatever that are necessary, I will go out and make the best of things.

I did go to Wal-Mart today after my meal came by. The meal was yummy, homemade chile with no beans and a vegetable medley and a tiny biscuit. That was enough to hold me over to dinner.

Turn up the Volume

Went to see an ENT to check on my hearing. There was no infection in either ear. He also checked my nose for some reason. He did say this was just a sign of old age. Yeah, right, just like my tremors except there is no pill to help me.

Then I sat with an audiologist to check my hearing. Turns out I do need a hearing aid. Problem is, my HMO does not cover this. She did give me a list of local organizations that might help me. I can put this on my emergency credit card, but that would be the last resort. She did say I can always raise the volume, which I already do.

We have to do the lotto and see when we win to take care of things like this.

Ladies Luncheon

HP had some appointments one day and he came over to see about moving here. I really do not understand this, but he's making too much money. Anyway, I treated him to a late lunch at the Mexican Manhattan.

Then he came over to surf the net. He's all caught up with the smut I forward him. Of course it's always nice to spend time with my posse.

Chiflado's News

While HP was recuperating, I had a doctor's appointment. My CD4 count was 170 which was better than my last count, and I'm still undetectable. Again, I'm the healthiest sick person I know.

Last time I visited, Dr M froze a couple of warts on my upper lip. He froze them again this time until they were black. They both fell off within two days. He had given me a script for a lotion last time to put on them. Don't know if they worked at all. But they're gone and I'm happy. It was kinda funny when I'd put the lotion on the warts and I would forget about them. But no more, he did refer me to a dermatologist.

I mentioned my hearing, which HP knows first hand. There's been a ringing in my right ear for the past month or so. I should also get a referral. Last one was to the podiatrist and gave me a script also.

Looks I'm gonna be busy next month.

HP is doing great, so much so that he went to work last week. There were some I'm exhausted whining about work. I like to tease him that all he does is sit all day on the phone.

HP Update

HP got out of the hospital last week and went to Mom and Dad's for a few days. He did sound a whole lot better compared to a week ago. And he's going to work today. I still think he needs more rest, but who listens to me.

HP Update

Just talked to Hush Puppy and he's doing great. He's up in Kerrville and Mom made some chicken noodle soup. He's only doing a few days before he goes back to work. We're workaholics and we have to go on no matter what. I used to be like that. Now I stay at home and do nothing as ya'll know.

He did say we spoke last night but I don't remember. Today I tried to refill a couple of scripts and they told me I already picked them up. Kinda scary this forgetting all the time. I just say he spoke to one of the personalities and they haven't told me.

What a way to celebrate a birthday. Of course when he calls and give a spiel, Thank you for calling AARP. How may I help you. LOL I get away with murder with everyone.

He'll be back in SA Sunday at the latest.

Hush Puppy is in the hospital again with pancreatites. He's in an okay mood. He's been there since Tuesday poor baby.

And of course, he has to out do me. He's also gonna take out the gall bladder. He's also thinking about disability. Poor guy he was on disability before and he should not be working.

Neurologist

I've been sitting on some news letting them fester at me. Mess went with me as a second set of ears.

They did an EEG of my brain looking for seizures, but of course this did not affect me. The neurologist said it's a sign of old age. He upped the dosage on my meds and that's about it.

So that's it? I'm to live with the tremors and the dosage. There has to be more to it than age. I will of course talk to my doctor when I see him this month. There is the option of a second opinion.

This of course did not sit well with me and I've been kinda depressed about it. For the past week I've been lying down for a daily nap. And I've not been going anywhere, just the library and pharmacy. Let's see what this week brings.

Slow Week

I did nothing this past week. It was too hot to go anywhere and wound up fighting with Jean Luc for the bed. He has a whole bed to available so what does he do? He has to lie as much as he wants, but I get all the attention.
